Welcome to Drama
Djanogly strives in allowing scholars to creatively study the arts, allowing years 7 and 8 to be introduced to the topic through the choice of 5 week electives. This allows students to really begin to understand the main concepts of studying and practicing the performing arts. For those who decided to continue to select drama as a GCSE option will begin their journey in year 9 focusing on the study of play texts, practitioners and acting practice over a three year course. This will be delivered in a range of different teaching methods focusing on the written studies and practical. Drama is not only about learning to act, the subject allow holds key skills which will benefit scholars in their future employment such as; team work skills, confidence, critical thinking and presentational skills. The arts at Djanogly also caters in a range of extracurricular activities such as, working within the community, school performances and additional drama clubs which all students the opportunity to show their creativity alongside their studies

Students are able to opt to take GCSE Drama in Year 9 where their drama skills are developed further in preparation for taking a series of practical and written examinations to gain their GCSE qualification.
The department is currently developing their extra-curricular provision starting with a Winter Showcase that is in rehearsal for December. This event will be showcasing the wealth of talent that Djanogly students have in areas such as singing, instrumental playing, dancing, drama, poetry and art.
