"Welcome to the Djanogly City Academy website. I hope that as you explore the site, you will get a flavour of the unique culture that exists within our school.
Our aim is very simple and that is to be recognised as outstanding in every aspect.
The determination of staff and governors to achieve this goal is very strong and is based on a simple but direct strategy - Achievement: No Excuses."
Congratulations to our Year 11 students who collected their results in August 2016.
Your results were some of the best the Academy has ever achieved and you have made everyone very proud. With the changes to how schools are assessed it is hard to make year on year comparisons as you are no longer comparing like with like. These results are the 2nd best the Academy has ever had, it has consolidated last year’s remarkable gains.
Some notable departmental gains were made in mathematics, Science and Physical Education. The separate Sciences improved on last year’s outcomes with 82%, 82% and 86% for Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
An additional indicator that the Academy continues to improve is the attendance. It is a simple truth that you cannot improve your learning if you are absent. With better lessons, better behaviours and less exclusions our attendance is the highest in living memory for year 11.
It would be impossible to list all the many successes our pupils enjoyed this summer. Particular mention does need to be made for students who overcame significant barriers to their achievement. Many were being examined in their 2nd or 3rd language.
Well done and on behalf of the staff and governors we would like to wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
